CREATIVE TEAM

Ramón Verdugo • Artistic Director of Tijuana Hace Teatro since 2007. As an artist he has collaborated in more than 30 shows, as a director, actor and producer. University professor for theatre and acting programs for opera singers. With experience in seminars and festivals such as ASSITEJ (China), Odin Theatre (Denmark), Fira Infantil I Juvenil (Spain), ITI (Armenia), among others in Mexico and United States. For over 10 years he has codirected the THT Binational School of Audiences and Festival Interprepas for youth theatre groups. Cofounder of Festival de Teatro Íntimo.

Jessica Bauman • Community engaged theater maker, director and teacher. Her production of Arden/Everywhere - a reimagining of Shakespeare’s As You Like It as a refugee story - ran in Off-Broadway, with a cast of both professionals and non-professional immigrant actors from nine different countries. She has worked with immigrants and displaced people in New York City, Tijuana and Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya. Jessica is a recipient of a Theater Communications Group/Mellon Foundation Travel Grant to support her collaboration with Tijuana Hace Teatro.

Jesús Quintero • Executive Director for Teatro Las Tablas. Executive Director for Tijuana Hace Teatro. A graduate of the Theatre Program of INBA, has experience in production, teaching, directing, performing and more. Codirects audience engagement programs in collaboration with public, private and independent organizations. Experience as artist, speaker and programmer at several international events.


Tijuana Hace Teatro’s work has covered both the theater for adults and young people, including the world premieres of The Frontera Project (2021), Sometimes Dogs Smile (2019), There Are Also Flies In The Moon (2018), Reef (2017), among others. Their work has been seen at such festivals, seminars and conferences in China, Denmark, Spain, Armenia, U.S. and Mexico. They also originated the THT Binational School of Audiences, an audience engagement program that unites 10 theaters on the Tijuana (MEX) / San Diego (USA) border; the THT High School Festival; and the THT Workshop acting training program. They are part of México en Escena, a program funded by the Sistema de Apoyos a la Creación y Proyectos Culturales of the Federal Secretary of Culture.

New Feet Productions is dedicated to developing and producing new and classical work that ripples with theatrical language and invention. Jessica Bauman founded New Feet Productions in 2007 in order to develop Into the Hazard (Henry 5), her six-actor adaptation of Shakespeare’s Henry V. New Feet sponsored two workshops of that project and fully produced the piece at Walkerspace. In 2010, New Feet co-produced Milk by Emily DeVoti with New Georges. New Feet’s production of All Day Suckers by Susan Dworkin was part of the New York International Fringe Festival in August 2010. Most recently, New Feet co-produced journalist Jack Hitt’s solo performance Making Up the Truth, which premiered at the International Festival of Arts and Ideas in New Haven in 2011, and was featured in the 2012 Spoleto Festival.

Ramón Verdugo • Director Artístico de Tijuana Hace Teatro. Ha colaborado en más de 30 puestas en escena, como actor, director y/o productor. Es docente universitario en el área de teatro y actuación para cantantes de ópera. Ha participado en seminarios y festivales como ASSITEJ (China), Odin Theatre (Dinamarca), Fira Infantil I Juvenil (España), ITI (Armenia), entre otros en México y Estados Unidos. Codirector de la Escuela Binacional de Espectadores y del Festival Interprepas THT con grupos jóvenes. Cofundador del Festival de Teatro Íntimo.

Jessica Bauman • Maestra, directora y hacedora de teatro comprometida con la comunidad. Su producción Arden / Everywhere, una reinvención de As You Like It de Shakespeare como una historia de refugiados, se presentó en Off-Broadway con un elenco de actores inmigrantes profesionales y no profesionales de nueve países. Codirige programas de formación de públicos en colaboración con los sectores público, privado e independiente. Suma participaciones en eventos internacionales.
